Industry XR Demo
A room-scale XR demo I built independently to showcase Meta's latest spatial SDKs to industry partners. Users place correctly-sized virtual objects, boilers, washing machines, plumbing fixtures, directly in real spaces using the headset's spatial awareness. Taken to Belfast by Nudge Reality's director, the demo generated strong interest from companies in construction, plumbing, and home improvement.
The problem
Industry partners in construction, plumbing, and home improvement needed to see a concrete XR use case before committing to conversations with Nudge Reality. A generic demo would not cut it.
My role
Sole developer. Built the demo independently using Meta's spatial SDK, then prepared and supported its presentation at a Belfast industry event.
Outcome
Demo taken to Belfast by Nudge Reality's director and generated strong inbound interest from companies in construction, plumbing, and home improvement. Proved out spatial object placement as a viable pre-visualisation tool for trade industries.
Built on Meta's room-scale and spatial anchoring APIs. Objects are placed at accurate real-world scale using the headset's continuous spatial mapping, with no markers or calibration step. Users can walk around placed objects and view them from any angle.
The demo grabbed attention from companies in construction, plumbing, electrical work, and home improvement, proving XR’s value beyond entertainment.
Helps plan room layouts, visualise renovations, and train workers in realistic settings. A practical proof-of-concept for XR in professional trades.
